Greenwich Village Private Tour With The High Line
Greenwich Village has long been a magnet for bohemians and intellectuals. Artists and writers, like Edgar Allan Poe & Mark Twain, gave the neighborhood its freewheeling identity.
“The Village”, as we call it here, is a place like no other in New York and has long been known for its Bohemian spirit and freewheeling atmosphere. Here you’ll find historic sites, like the scene of the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, or Cooper Union where Abraham Lincoln gave the speech in 1860 that propelled him to the presidency. We’ll also tour Washington Square Park, one of the best people watching spots in the world. Washington Square Park is not only the centerpiece of Greenwich Village, but it’s also a favorite spot for students from NYU as well as street artists and performers of every kind. I’ll walk you down some of The Village’s tree lined streets passing celebrity homes, haunted houses and more contemporary sights like the “Friends” building.
We’ll visit the High Line, a west side park with beautiful views of the Hudson River that runs ABOVE the streets on the abandoned New York Central Railroad.
